Production Scheduler

POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Scheduler is responsible for the accuracy and the maintenance of the Master Production Schedule to ensure manufacturing work order completion dates align with on time delivery of customer PO delivery dates. The Scheduler formulates, maintains, and monitors the execution of the production schedule which is established based on customer requirements and forecasts, plant manufacturing capabilities, and desired inventory levels in alignment with the company's business plan.

Essential Functions Statement(s); Under the Direction of Group Executive Leadership:

  • Uses MRP to develop the production schedule necessary to effectively accomplish the goals established by the Business Plan and provide the best service to all customers
  • Coordinates the execution of the production schedule with all cross functional team members
  • Level loading production based upon capacity in specific work centers
  • Assists management in creating actionable solutions when peaks in demand put level loading at risk 
  • Prepares information based on current production requirements for use in forecasting and establishing optimal inventory levels 
  • Develops, maintains, and monitors compliance with all production schedule policies and procedures 
  • Is expected to produce consistent quality work in alignment with requirements and standards
  • Support the company goals within the scope of the job
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with internal customers

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor of Science in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience: Prefer experience with supporting complex manufacturing organizations.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including strong Excel and Word skills; experience with SAGE and Crystal Reports is desired

Certificates and Licenses: APICS certification preferred 

Other Requirements: Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience a plus
